PRINCE OF PEACE Memory Verse: Ephesians 2:14 “14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us.” BIBLE PASSAGE:Isaiah 9:6 INTRODUCTION: One of the greatest things the world is looking for today is peace. Virtually everybody in his right state of mind would do everything required to get peace. However, many things come to mind when it comes to the issue of peace. No wonder, the world today is clamouring for peace building, peace management, peace keeping and so on.
PRINCE OF PEACE Outlines: WHAT IS PEACE? WHO IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE?
Outline 1: • WHAT IS PEACE? • Peace refers to freedom from disturbance or state of tranquility • Peace is the absence of war or other hostilities • Peace is a state of being in harmony (harmonious relationship) • Peace means inner contentment; serenity otherwise known as peace of mind • Peace is a state of wellness. When it is well with you, it means you are at peace • Peace is an agreement to stop violence and make room for harmony. PRINCE OF PEACE
PRINCE OF PEACE • Outline 2: • WHO IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE? • In the sinful state, man can be said to be an enemy of God. Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace came to restore relationship of peace between Man and God (Romans 5:8-10). • Our Lord Jesus Christ is a specialist in the matter of peace, no wonder He is referred to as the Prince of Peace. He can give to us much more than the peace we are conversant with here on earth - (John 14:27). He is the Lord of Peace. He can give us peace that passes all understanding. He spoke to the stormy situation and peace was restored.
PRINCE OF PEACE • Outline 2: • WHO IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE? • He can speak peace to our lives and situations. He is empowered to do so being the Prince of Peace. However, to get this peace, one has to abide in him - (1 Peter 5:14, Mark 4:39, John 14:27, Ephesians 2:14, 2 Thessalonians 3:16, Ephesians 4:1-3, John 16:33, Philippians 4:6-7).
PRINCE OF PEACE • CONCLUSION • To experience the ultimate peace beyond this world, there is the need to come to Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.
