  2. Why do we have four season? • A misleading fact about what causes a season is the distance the earth is away form the sun. • This is not true. Because of the earth’s elliptical orbit we rotate on a tilted axis. This causes us to rotate around the sun on a tilt. http://mbgnet.mobot.org/sets/temp/seasons.htm

What causes the seasons? • When the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun, that is when we experience winter. • Since the northern hemisphere is tilted toward the sun and experiences summer, the southern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun causing winter. • The two hemispheres experience opposite seasons. http://mbgnet.mobot.org/sets/temp/seasons.htm
