The folks whohaven’t gone so far include: Mousaab, Clayton, Colin, Claudine, Adrian, Chika, Michelle, Chris, Beth, Doug, Patrick, Cody, Kamilla, Mike, Ryan, Derek, Brett, Kyle, Adam, Mary, and Christine. • Todaywe’llbrieflyreviewCondon’s conclusion, I’ll show a video on smart growth, and then I have a discussion question for you.
Condon’s Conclusion • He suggeststhat the sevenstrategiescan serve as stand-alones, but work best whenthey are treated as all of a piece – i.e. in the form of a revampedstreetcar city. • He also alludes briefly in the last paragraph to the qualitative – i.e. experiential – aspects of densercities. The question I wouldlike to discussafter the videois: to whatextent, in addition to anyecologicalfootprint gains fromreducingsprawl, do the new condo develop-mentsbeingbuilt in Vancouver, and even in Nanaimo, contribute to urbanquality of life?
