What is a life cycle? All organisms have a life cycle that has a beginning and ending. During the life cycle the organism can often take different shapes and sizes. The Butterfly life cycle is very dramatic with different stages and forms from a tiny egg, to a caterpillar, to a pupa, and lastly, to an adult with wings.
Stages in Butterfly Life Cycle • The butterfly begins as a tiny egg. • The egg hatches and grows into a caterpillar or larva. • The larva forms a pupa or chrysalis. • The adult butterfly emerges from the pupa with it’s lovely wings.
