  3. State Nickname • The state’s nick name is “The Sunflower State” • Kansas got that nick name because it is known for it’s sunflowers

  4. Statehood This state became a state on January 29, 1861. It was the 34th state.

  5. Places to Visit A interesting fact about Kansas is that Home on the Range is the state song.

  6. Famous People .Amelia Earhart lived in Kansas she was famous because she was the first female pilot.
