  2. The Kingdoms • Old Kingdom • 2700 – 2200 BCE • Pyramid building occurs during this time • Middle Kingdom • 2055 – 1650 BCE • New Kingdom • 1550 – 1070 BCE • Each period interrupted by outside invasions or periods of economic decline

  4. Deshret • The crown of Lower Egypt

  5. Pschent • The unified crown of Egypt

  6. Ankh • Symbol of eternal life. • Held by the loop or handle • Almost never depicted in silver • Eternal life represented by the sun • The sun is a golden color and so then should the Ankh
