The Japan America Society of St. Louis and Japan America Society Women’s Association invite you to Chanoyu: Japanese tea ceremony with Junko Ikeda (Urasenke Instructor) Chanoyu (Chado), the Way of Tea, is a spiritual practice created in the 16th century. You will learn about the Way of Tea in an introductory lecture and demonstration, while enjoying a bowl of matcha (green powder tea) with Japanese confections. The experience will sooth the mind with each step. Location: A chashitsu (tearoom) in St. Charles (about 30 min from U-City area). Fall 2013 Event Dates: October 27 (Sunday, 2:00-3:30 pm) November 17 (Sunday, 2:00-3:30 pm) December 22 (Sunday, 2:00-3:30 pm) Send checks (payable to Japan America Society) to: Japan America Society of St. Louis 366 SSB UMSL One University Blvd St. Louis, MO 63121-4400 JAS/JASWA member rate: $15 (Student rate $10) Non-member rate: $20 6 Seats are available per event and are sold on a First Come, First Served basis.
