  2. Mission • Our mission: We inspire our communities to invest in health and scientific advances to improve the lives of children and their families in Canada and around the world.

  3. Goals By providing funding across Canada, we hope to strengthen Canada's capacity and knowledge to respond to children's health needs. Funding is granted in areas of children's health based on scientific excellence and relevant impact on children's health. A second focus of our funding is to help ensure that families are able to access the most up to date information about their children's health. Community Conference Grants bring together families with researchers and clinicians for medical presentations and family-oriented discussions.

  4. History • Established in 1972, SickKids Foundation raises funds on behalf of The Hospital for Sick Children • The Foundation's fundraising is driven by the belief that improving the health and well-being of children is one of the most powerful ways to improve society

Statistics • 1875 : 44 patients admitted to sick kids • 2012-13 : 15,088 patients admitted • Largest grants ever to pediatric care $92.6 Million overall • 42.3 million for the Sickkids Research Institute • 21 million for clinical and research equipment • 14.6 million for family and patient support services • 5.2 million for learning initiatives • 1 million to families to help cover expenses not covered by insurance

Events • Galas: • Various black tie dinner, concert, garden tour, homes tour, art show, performance of a play, BBQ beach party, boat cruise, costume dinner dance, dress rehearsal performance, food fair, gala premiere, dance, celebrity luncheon, talent show • A-thons: • Various walk, skip, read, bike, dance, knit, swim, bowl, skate, aerobics

How to Donate • Direct-Dialogue program • Taking donations from people on the street • Door to Door Program • Going door to door seeking out monthly pledges from committed donors • Shop Sick Kids • The Foundation has partnered with retailers to offer you a convenient way to shop. Each of the retailers have committed to donating a portion of their sales to the Foundation on select products.

How to Donate • RRSP/RRIF Donations • Gift of Life Insurance • Appreciated Securities Donations • SickKids Charitable Giving Fund • Minimum $50 000 donation • Property Donations • the 5Fifty5 Shop • gift shop operated entirely by Women's Auxiliary volunteers. It sells SickKids memorabilia, toys, books and much more. The 5Fifty5 Shop directs proceeds to patient-related projects.

  11. How to Donate • Sick Kids Lottery • Herbie Jewelry Fund • provides financial support so children from around the world can receive surgical treatment at The Hospital for Sick Children. To date, more than 600 children from approximately 100 countries have received specialized medical and surgical assistance that would not otherwise be available to them.
