Training Materials • National HIV/AIDS Programme managers’ training manual • Updated IMAI/IMPAC/PMTCT training tool • Focused ante-natal care training tool • Training modules for TB, TB/HIV and MDR-TB • Modules for International training courses for malaria updated in 2012
Training Courses • AIDS programme managers course: 10 participants in 2012, and 18 in 2013 • Six weeks TB Training – 5 workshops organized in 2012 and 2013 in Benin and Kenya with 125 participants • Four international courses on planning and managing malaria control programs held in Ethiopia and Benin: 209 participants (from 31 countries) were trained
Training courses (2) • 11 participants from 10 countries in the Region were supported to participate in two WHO Advanced Malaria Surveillance Courses • National capacity for elaboration and institutionalization of National Health Account strengthen in 26 countries • 3 Courses on Malaria diagnosis for National malaria control programme in Harare, Libreville and Ouagadougou
National health policies and strategic plans • National Health Policies (NHP) were updated in 7 countries • Development of policy and plan on HRH including HRH information system strengthening and staffing was supported in 18 countries • Health sector reviews were conducted in 21 countries • National Health Strategic Plans (NHSP) were finalized in 15 countries
Health financing • The Costing of NHSP using One Health tool done in 13 countries. Joint support for developing the financing component of national health strategies in 9 countries • Joint support for developing the financing component of national health strategies in 9 countries • 21 Countries supported to undertake NHA
Conclusion • Country leadership/ownership • Partnerships • Costed NHSP is the foundation for • resource mobilisation, • harmonisation and alignment; • achieving Universal Health Coverage
