What worked? • Well designed and well thought out curriculum • Engaging projects and games • Easy to grasp yet challenging enough • Alice and web programming were most liked • Good projects and rubrics
What didn’t work? • No reading material for students • Need a way to access students on an individual basis for non-participating students
Improvements • Units 1 and 2 (Human Computer Interaction and Problem Solving) can be combined and shortened • Unable to cover all six units. Did not cover Python. • Unit 4 (Alice) was most engaging and could be extended as two units • All programming concepts could be taught using Alice • Projects could be elaborated to be task based (each student in a group could be assigned a task for grading purposes) • Student reading material for reference
