Protecting Animal Welfare atTime of Killing (PATK) • SQA and Improve have developed a competence based qualification to comply with requirements of EU Regulations covering Animal Welfare • Scottish Government, Defra and devolved nation authorities are finalising the implementation arrangements • Food Standards Agency will issue Certificates of Competence (the Licences) not same as qualification • Improve and Animal Welfare Team will host workshops specific to PATK later in 2013
