  3. Daniel’s situation: • Daniel’s vexation. • Daniel’s visitation. • Daniel’s victory!

  4. His vexation: He undergoes an extended fast as a result of the fearful visions. • 1. The duration of his fast (10:1–3): Three weeks • 2. The location of his fast (10:4): On the bank of the Tigris River

  5. His visitation: An angel from heaven appears! 1. The radiance. (10:5-6) 2. The reaction. (10:7–8) 3. The reassurance. (10:9–12) 4. The revelation. (10:14) 5. The resistance. (10:13, 15–21)

  7. Division of Angels • 1. The Seraphs -- guardians of the throne of God/ worshippers. • 2. The Cherubs -- worshippers of God • 3. The Living Creatures -- read Isaiah 6 and Rev 4. • 4. Archangels -- warring and messenger angels, like Michael and Gabriel. • 5. Common Angels -- the only wingless angels used for ministering to the saints, like the ones at the tomb of Jesus.

  8. His victory: Michael the archangel helped Gabriel get through the resistance and deliver the message to Daniel.
