How to use this pack • The aim of this pack is to: • Help you review your audit findings for the Implementing NICE public health guidance for the workplace audit: national organisational audit of NHS trusts in England. • Provide background on how best to implement the relevant NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) guidance. • Facilitate team discussion. • Help you write an action plan from your audit data.

  4. Evidence-based approach • The information in this pack is based on implementation guidance issued by NICE. Full details can be found at www.nice.org.uk/usingguidance/implementationtools/implementation_tools.jsp. • Successful implementation of NICE public health guidance helps improve staff health and wellbeing, reduce costs associated with ill health and improve patient outcomes.

  5. Before you begin…. • Identify who needs to attend this meeting. This may be the trust health and wellbeing group and is likely to include representatives from HR, OH, senior and junior management, staff, public health, clinical audit, NICE guidance implementation, union representation, health and safety – please consult within your organisation to identify the correct individuals. • Review the 5 slide sets in full so you are familiar with what is going to be covered. • Make any updates you need to – including adding your own audit data to slide set C.

  6. For the meeting you will need: • a copy of your audit report • a copy of the relevant NICE guidance (links on following slide) • a white board or flip chart to document the discussion session • a chairperson to facilitate and time discussion • someone to circulate the meeting output • copies of the action plan template.
