  2. Sacramento County Information Technology Plan • Progress with the 1st plan adopted in 2003 • Highlights for the proposed 2004 plan The purpose of information technology is to enable the County to achieve its business goals and objectives.

Creating the 2003 IT Plan • IT Plan goal: • A county-level IT plan that supports our business needs • Process: • Stakeholders help develop and validate business drivers, goals, and objectives • Participants: • Existing business teams & the IT Governance Structure “The best thing I learned during this process was to be more externally focused and appreciate what others do to serve customers.” Participant.

It is now being used in many states and counties nationwide.   11. The proposed 2004 IT Plan The County has some extraordinary challenges in the months and years ahead. A major goal of the plan is to assist the Board of Supervisors and other County decision makers. Today I am recommending that your Board approve the 2004 County of Sacramento Information Technology Plan. Questions? Comments?
