  2. Objectives Ok, I now know how we operate, what’s the class about? • List Lab Safety Rules • Describe ESD Procedures • Follow Safety Rules and ESD procedures

  3. We go to Staging Area 2 Don’t panic or freak out Stand in straight line (east to west) for role Don’t stand with another class If in another room, go with that group and report to the person in charge of that group Take your belongings (esp. backpacks). Evacuation

Video Notes: ESD • ESD stands for? • How do you get it? • Two items to help prevent ESD • How should you connect the two items to the PC? • What do you check to be sure the wrist strap is still working? • If you can’t use an ESD prevention device, what do you do? • Should you work on the pc with it plugged in but off?

  6. Video Notes: ESD Answers • Electrostatic Discharge • Various answers • Antistatic wrist strap and mat • Metal on the chasis • Check what to insure the strap is still working • Touch the power supply frequently • Answers will vary (yes/no)
