Character The main character of the story is Rip Van Winkle. Meek, easygoing, very appreciated man of the village who wanders off to the mountains to avoid trouble and meets strange men playing ninepins.
Setting The story begins about five or six years before the American Revolution and ends twenty years later. The story takes place in a village , near the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains. The river was named after Henry Hudson, who investigated it in 1609.
Problem/Conflict Conflict was established when he met ”the man” with flagon.
Climax The climax started when Rip Van winkle met Peter Vanderdonk. It is the climax because he confirms Rip Van Winkles identity and sees proof of what had happened.
Resolution The resolution of the story is when Rip Van Winkle goes back to town. The people recognize him and he moves in to live with his daughter and her husband. By: Gil Alvarez Comm:D
