Problem: Professor wants to see if students understand a given concept in class (3 hrs long) • Need to poll students in “real-time” since students may be shy • Need to limit what the students can output as not to distract the lecture, i.e. no twitter feeds • Solutions: “Real-Time Course Evaluation App” • (1) Easy-to-use: just copy/past list of student emails… link sent directly to students who retrieve email on mobile devices, hit link and download the app all in the 1st class • (2) Download app onto i-Phones/i-Pads/Galaxy, etc., should work across all popular devices • (3) Simple-to-understand: lever can move up and down: [green] is good, and [red] is bad • (4) Professor sees histogram of all students in real-time, know when to slow down/repeat • (5) When class is over, close app. Next class, just open the app.
