General Introduction • One or two sentence description of the project. • For example: “Our project will digitize the complete poems of Poet X, aimed primarily at a scholarly audience. It will also include essays on the biography of Poet X and photographs taken during his many public readings.” DHO Metadata Workshop
Building blocks • What are the building blocks of your project? • Include numbers and file formats if you know. For example: • journal articles (pdf, TEI); • Approximately 200 illustrations (jpeg); • 5 books; • 32 musical recordings (mp3) DHO Metadata Workshop
What We Are Describing • Bulleted list of what is being described, and how • For example: • Descriptions of people named in the letters, in an Excel spreadsheet • Poems are being encoded (using TEI XML) for the following aspects • Physical structure (how the poem appears on the page) • Metrical structure (rhyme and alliteration) • Photographs identified by photographer, date, and buildings shown in the photographs.
