Phase 1 Project Status: Construction • Construction between 23rd Street and Washington is progressing. Track alignment change required to incorporate an access road to LATTC driveways will extend the construction duration. • Continued utility relocations to support trench construction • Continued procurement for Work Package A4, 61” Water Line Relocation • Continued potholing for utilities in Segments B and C • Continued storm drain line relocation between Adams and 23rd Street along Flower Street • Began construction submittal process to support trench construction 2
Phase 1 Project Status: CPUC Grade Crossing Applications • 10 CPUC applications have been filed for the 44 crossings on the project that require CPUC approval • Protests have been filed on all 10 grade crossing applications • CPUC staff protest of LATTC driveway crossings has been withdrawn • Expo Communities United (ECU) submitted protests on the last two applications filed, and the Authority has responded to ECU. • Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) has given Neighbors for Smart Rail (NFSR) until July 6 to file protest • ALJ has notified all parties of intent to hold workshop and Preliminary Hearing during the week of July 16 3
Phase 1 Project Status: Real Estate • Completed termination of 52 leases; 22 leases remain active • 14 parcels are certified • 14 property appraisals are complete • 6 Offers pending acceptance • 4 agreements are in escrow • 4 parcels have been acquired • The final design has identified 11 additional partial acquisitions to meet City curb radius and ADA criteria 4
Phase 1 Project Status: Third Party Agreements • 8 Third Party Agreements are necessary for the project • 4 agreements have been executed: • AT&T • Caltrans • City of Los Angeles • County of Los Angeles • 4 agreements are still being processed: • LADWP • Culver City • Golden State Water • Time Warner 5
Phase 1 Project Status: Government/Community Relations • Hosted the Mid-Corridor Project Status Update Community Meeting at Dorsey High School • Hosted an Urban Design Committee Meeting at Baha’i Center • Participated in the SoRo Community Festival • Participated in the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Southern Chapter Transportation Night Event • Briefed LAUSD OEHS and Dorsey High School Principal regarding the status of the Farmdale Crossing • Circulated construction notices to Mid-Corridor and West End stakeholders regarding the Pre-Cast Girder Construction Yard Site • Completed Business Assessments in Segment B 6

Summary of Jobs Program Activities: June 2007 • Added 72 new individuals to the Jobs Program Inquiries Log, the database listing residents seeking employment opportunities with the Expo Local Jobs Program. There are 539 interested residents on the database. • Hired 11 new construction workers in June; 5 of those hired were local residents • In conjunction with PVJOBS, completed two job program orientations for interested local residents. Will conduct 8 more orientation sessions over the next few months. • Hired intern from Dorsey High School. • Continued to meet with Union Local 300 and Carpenters Union Local 409 Field Representatives to discuss progress in hiring new and existing union members from the Expo corridor. Will continue to meet with the Unions on a monthly basis. • Distributed Expo Jobs Program information throughout the Expo Corridor to libraries, community organizations, senior centers and retail establishments. 13
Phase 2 Project Status: AA/EIS/Conceptual Engineering • Continued data collection on various environmental issues, e.g., biological resources, historic resources, etc. • Continued Phase 1 Grade Crossing Policy analysis development for LRT alternatives • Continued monitoring development of Metro Ridership model (originally due in January ‘07) • Continued development of BRT, TSM and build alternatives • Conducted a successful technical meeting with FTA Headquarters staff to review preliminary service levels, draft Purpose and Need and modeling approach 14
Phase 2 Project Status: AA/EIS/Conceptual Engineering (cont.) • Collected baseline noise and vibration data from monitoring sites • Completed field measurements at existing service sites • Continued defining ROW and Venice/Sepulveda alignments in order to determine impact areas • Continued defining existing ROW ownership data 15
