Data: High School Algebra I 2011-2012 School Year: • 70 students are enrolled in Algebra I • 67 of the 70 students are freshman or 16.6% of the total freshman class • 31 of the 70 freshman are new to Hudson which is 44% of the students enrolled in Algebra I • 12 of the 70 freshman in Algebra I have a disability which is 17% of the students enrolled in Algebra I

Take Aways • The district has heard our parents and changes have been made. • Common Core standards in mathematics have been adopted by the state of Ohio. • Mathematics courses of studies 1-8 being developed to begin transition to Common Core for 2012-2013 school year. • Middle School Math textbook adoption process started with implementation slated for 2012-2013. • We are all on the same team!
Not broken • Do not have a 40% repeat rate for Algebra I at the high school. • Students are continuing to do well in multiple measures. • We constantly see ways to improve our delivery of instruction to meet the needs of students. • Benchmark with comparable districts: What are they doing? • Continue to help parents understand mathematics in our schools today. Working to increase parent resources (on-line support, parent nights etc...)
