  4. Talking to a teenager about drug addiction is a quite demanding project. Especially if this teenager is a handicap person with a slow perception of reality. Psychologists and civil workers who occupy themselves in the sector of Prevention believe that a 2-hour- course on the topic of drugs may affect negatively an adolescent. • In other words there is no point in teaching students what kind of drugs there are, where they can find them and how the use may affect their health and emotions. Consequently , the best way for raising awareness is the voluntary participation of a student in such a project. • In the grounds of this approach we told students of the last grade that we are going to have a lesson on the subject of drugs. A group of 3 students were offered to attend it and the presentation you are going to watch is the result of this attempt.

  5. ObjectivesGetting acquainted with modern social problems that are faced by teenagersCreating a friendly and secure educational context for the students within the school bordersRaising awareness on the problem of drug addiction

  6. Procedure1.We invited our students to talk about themselves , about their relationships with their friends and family, their feelings in certain difficult situations. We shared opinions about what we could do to avoid them and how we could solve some problems we face in everyday life. It came out easily that true friends and support from the family are of major importance in problem solving. On the other hand , lack of human relationships, love and affection may cause contact disorder or addiction to substances.

  7. 2.We asked our students to collect some photos from the internet and look for researches about drug addiction , ways of prevention and therapy.3.We watched ‘’Requiem for a dream’’, movie and then commented on it.4.We invited them to share this experience with us via a power point presentation , with the supervision of their teachers of course. This is their work!

In our homeland… • The therapeutic communities is by far the most successful and systematic attempt, to provide an answer to the problem of drug addiction. • Despite this, the Therapy Centre for Dependent Individuals, the country’s largest rehabilitation network, stated that the crisis has already cut deeply into state-subsidized programs for drug addicts. • The report said life will get worse for many addicts, and projected that growing poverty will drive more people to drugs and alcohol if centres aren’t available to help them.
