  1. A hero can be defined as someone who will go through hardships to maintain peace and good for his or her society. Gandhi Question 1: How do we define the personality traits of a hero?

Question 2: How do the setting, conflicts, and antagonists influence the development of literary heroes? • Seeing the poverty in his country which was being controlled by Great Britain influenced Gandhi to bring change. (Rahman, M. Raisur) • When Gandhi saw the poor people of his country being controlled by the wealthy Brittish, he was influenced to bring change.   6. Question 6: What was his childhood like? • Mohandas Gandhi was born in  Porbandar, Gujarat India in October 2, 1869 but his family moved to the town of Rajkot when he was only seven years old. He was the youngest of four children in his family.("Childhood/Education." lausd.) • Gandhi attended an all boy school when he was about seven years old in Rajkot. Once he finished elementary school Gandhi attended a high school in Rajkot with other boys as well. ("Gandhi, Mohandas." UXL Encyclopedia of World Biography. )

  7. Question 7:What influenced him to do what he did? He followed philosophy of non-violence for fighting injustice and he was inspired by Jesus Christ. (Desai, Ian.) Gandhi was a victim of discrimination when he was in South Africa. He didn’t understand why the color of someone's skin a factor of discrimination.   8. Question 8: How did his childhood influence his future? • As a child Gandhi was a humanitarian. He was a strict vegetarian. (Encyclopedia of World Biography) • He was also quiet and disliked sports.(Journal of World History )

  9. Question 9: What did other people think of him? • During his time, people loved Gandhi. His ways earned him many followers. People were willing to die for Gandhi. (Encyclopedia of the Age of War and Reconstruction) • Some people disliked Gandhi for the things he was doing, this led to his assination. (Hard News)
