Students Should … • Come in quietly • Follow all school rules • Follow PQR • Positive attitude • Quality work • Reasonable, Respectful, & Responsible • Remain seated in assigned seat until teacher directs you • Come to teacher directly & immediately after class, during Advisory, or via e-mail with concern/question • Always be re-checking your work carefully (for completeness, grammar, spelling, etc.), paying attention at all times to the lesson, and turning in work on-time • Check grades daily • Take care of missing assignments ASAP • Make corrections to any assignment marked with “Please correct & return” ASAP • Study notes daily 5-10 minutes • Check teacher website daily for upcoming classwork & homework • Return signed printed progress reports every 3 weeks • Call your 5 Study Buddies when you need help
Parents Should … • Compare your child’s work assignments online to his/her planner • Check daily teacher website for upcoming classwork & homework • Check grades daily • Before your child turns in an assignment, check for heading, spelling, grammar, & following directions • Contact teacher immediately & directly if concerns arise via e-mail • Make sure your child is spending 5-10 minutes daily studying notes taken in class & not waiting till the last minute before a quiz • Sign printed progress reports every 3 weeks • Encourage your child to use their 5 Study Buddies • Encourage your child in following PQR & follow through at home
Seating • Randomized every 3 weeks, unless extenuating circumstances exist
Quizzes • Open notes • Announced at least one week in advance • Dates posted on teacher’s website • Only POP Quizzes are returned • Scantrons are not returned, but may be viewed by appointment
Projects • Written essays based on common core standards • Samples shown in class only during the day of introduction of the assignment • Assignments downloadable online • Workbook pages & additional study material available on www.pearsonsuccessnet.com • Based on Presentation Rubrics provided in Welcome Packet
Labs • Based on point by point • Answer questions in complete sentences where indicated (rephrase question in answer) • Graphs need to follow procedures in notes & handouts • Individual write-ups, but labs completed in groups of no more than 5 students alternating between teacher choice & student choice (*Students are forewarned to choose wisely.)

SeaCamp • TBA for Spring Break (on waiting list for 28 students)
