  1. Captain Zero Our Hero Infection Fighter! Help us get to zero infections Read the back of this sign for an infection prevention tip of the week!! And have a ZERO mint as a reminder of our quest to get to ZERO!!!

  2. Captain Zero Says “Did you know rings can have lots of germs? In fact, they can contain 10 TIMES more organisms and can contaminate the rest of your hands. Be sure to either remove rings or clean thoroughly to get rid of all those germs!”

  3. Captain Zero Says “You can clean your hands in more than one way! In fact, Purell is the preferred method of cleaning your hands unless you have visible dirt on your hands and under your nails!”

  4. Captain Zero Says “Thinking about texting AND holding your baby at the same time? THINK AGAIN! You could easily transfer germs from the phone to your baby. Consider doing one thing at a time and enjoy this special time with your baby”

  5. Captain Zero Says “Think of your baby’s bedspace area as a “NEST” and “protect the nest” by cleaning your hands after touching anything in the area (curtain, countertop, drawer, phone, etc.) and of course ALWAYS Purell before touching your baby”

  6. Captain Zero Says “Think about how you will keep your baby healthy when you go home. Consider setting up Purell stations with a reminder for all guests to clean their hands before touching your baby. And make sure every guest is HEALTHY! It’s OK to ask if they are feeling well!”

  7. Captain Zero Says “The ID bands you might be wearing could be a potential source of germs. They are great keepsakes, but might be better placed in a scrapbook instead of your wrist once you are no longer a patient on the BP. Once your baby is in the ICN, we don’t require that you wear them.”
