At the Olympic Games Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are famous for their Olympic Gold Medal. They won Gold in the Ice Dance Competition at the 1984 Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo. They skated to a piece of music called “Bolero” by Ravel and scored a perfect score – achieving twelve 6.0’s from the judges. Something which has never again been achieved
At the Olympic Games After a successful professional career, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean returned to the Winter Olympics in 1994 – ten years after they had won Gold! At Lillehammer 1994 they performed “Face the Music” and won the Olympic Bronze Medal among controversy from those who thought they should have won Gold.

Why they are my heroes.... Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are my heroes because they achieved PERFECT at the Olympic Games. Their routine of Bolero is famous and very inspiring. I love watching all their old routines as they made every routine perfect. They changed the face of their sport with new and creative ideas, were extremely hard working and are great role models for British sport.
