  3. FACTS • He ran against republican Richard M.Nixon • Kennedy’s running mate was Lyndon B.Johnson. • Kennedy’s vote number was 34,226,925 to Nixon’s 34,108,662. • Kennedy replaced Dwight Eisenhower as president.
