Supporting planning for response
Regional structures will consult with both the central and local level to determine which capabilities should be established, and promote the development of these through sub-groups of the Regional Resilience Forum
The Resilience Team is not involved in supporting any incident at the Bronze or Silver level, although the team might be informed of any incident if the emergency services feel it has the potential to get larger, or it might gain Ministerial interest.
Setting up of a Regional Operations Centre
Assisting with recovery – getting the help right
Supporting a RCCC
Most emergencies in the United Kingdom are handled at a local level by the emergency services and by the appropriate local authority or authorities, with no direct involvement by Central Government.
However, where the scale or complexity of an incident is such that some degree of Central Government co-ordination or support becomes necessary, a designated Lead Government Department (LGD), will be made responsible for the overall management of the Central Government response to the incident.
