2. Introduction Demonstrative adjectives are words like that, this, these, and those, which replace the names of objects when creating a sentence. The three types of Demonstrative adjectives in Spanish are este which means this, ese means that, and aquel means that one over there. The feminine form of of these words are esta, esa, and aquella. There are four forms of demonstrative adjectives masculine singular, masculine plural, feminine singular, and feminine plural.

3. Mechanics When choosing which demonstrative adjective to choose you must first choose which type of demonstrative adjective you are going to use based on the location of the object. If the object is in your hand or close to you then use este. If the object is a little bit farther away then use ese. And if the object is really far away then use aquel. Then you must check if it is one object or multiple objects. Finally you must check if the object or objects you are talking about is masculine or feminine.

4. Examples I eat this food---Yocomoeste comida. She swims in that pool.---Ella nada en esapiscina. He drinks those beers.---El tomaesascervezas. That girl loves this boy.---Aesachicaencantaestechico. I want that car over there.---Yoquieroaquelcoche.

6. Application Demonstrative Adjectives can be applied in many ways. Mainly you use them to give direction or an idea to something you are talking about. So if you were trying to tell someone to go get an object for you but you don't know the name so you replace the name with a demonstrative adjective and a description.
