The role of the State Statistical Committee (SSC) in national SDG coordination mechanism Country Report Once a year National monitoring mechanism of SDGs Line government agencies are responsible for submit: • Statistical data related SDGs indicators to SSC • report on the works to be done related SDGs to NCCSD Country Report will be prepared by the Council on the bases of indicators and reports on the works to be done related SDGs President of the Republic of Azerbaijan SSC is responsible for collecting and processing statistical data on national SDGs indicators Line government agencies - central and local executive authorities as well as legal entities that control package shares (interests) belonging to the state 4

Challenges and needs • Challenges • Mapping national indicator frameworks to the global SDG indicator framework • More disaggregated data requirements • The absence of a clear roadmap on monitoring and reporting for SDGs indicators yet • Data gaps and inadequate data volume • Arrangement of the quality control system for data which will be presented by a new sources in order to calculate SDGs indicators • Inadequate ICT, financial and human resources • Access to a new data sources • Needs • The need to develop: • İCT, financial and human resources • Capacity building for monitoring and reporting on SDGs indicators • There is a great need for support of relevant international and regional organizations in studying and application of the best practices and recommendations 10
