  1. regenerated line lineregenerator modulator transmitter de-modulator line clock * X^2 FLTR XOR FF data (e.g. Ethernet) REG XOR FF TX FF data (e.g. Ethernet) FF Cable Station (transmit) or Observatory (transmit) Observatory (receive) or Cable Station (receive) *: The transmit line clock is obtained from the line regenerator in the Observatory application. Legend: FF = Flip-Flop used for retiming; = FF used as a divider to generate the half-rate clock signal; XOR = Exclusive-OR used to invert or not invert the half-rate clock under control of the data signal; TX = line regenerator transmitter; X^2 = square-law device use to generate line clock signal harmonics; FLTR = Narrow-band filter that selects only the line-clock frequency; REG = line regenerator.
