  1. ADDISON • Received developmental care immediately • NIDCAP within 72 hours • Developmental care plan • Family centered care----mom extremely involved • Kangaroo care

  2. ADDISON • MRI at 2 weeks- revealed interventricular hemorrhage (IVH) • Grade 1-2 on the right • Grade 3 on the left • *****treated with a reservoir initially

  3. ADDISON • PDA- treated with no meds initially • MRSA- put on isolation precautions • Transferred to annex (intermediate nursery) • Outgrew reservoir and needed and new drain placed---BUT developed meningitis and required vancomycin prior to surgery • Also needed surgery to close PDA

  4. ADDISON • Prior to surgery---Addison received and blood transfusion and suffered a stroke bilaterally • Underwent surgery, intubated and could not come off intubation • Developed cardiomyopathy---heart 8x normal size, placed on steroids

  5. ADDISON • Trach placed----- unable to wean from vent after surgery. • G-tube---unable to feed • HOME December 5th

  6. ADDISON • HOME • VP shunt placed after discharge home • G-tube for 3 months (she pulled) • Trach for 9 months • Home on oxygen and suction

  7. ADDISON • Developmental Care • In NIDCAP program and followed regularly with behavioral observations once a month or when significant changes happened • Family centered- mom big part of care and developmental plan, kangaroo care • PT/OT/ Speech involved early • Primary nursing
