STA Travel Volunteering Elephant Conservation Thailand
Top 3 things for our customers Trip with a difference! If our customers want to get away from the usual tourist hot spots this is a great thing to suggest....a great attachment to a RTW trip as well Everything is included in the price, great food, cool accommodation and transfers Money invested into the volunteering goes to ensure Elephants have enough food and medical supplies, as well as maintenance for local villages
Who? • This volunteering could be perfect for everyone.....as they will arrange jobs for any ability • Students, under 26 years • Older people who want a holiday with a difference( on my trip the ages went from 11-65years old)
When can we suggest Elephant Conservation or what may be its biggest competition Elephant Conservation 14 days, all food included £749 Northern Hill tribe and villages 8 days £359 Northern Thailand Discovery 9 days £479 Northern Thailand experience 14 days £699 Through feedback after my volunteering we are trying to make the project a 7 day option as well, which will make this an extremely easy option to sell to our customers and be the main opponent against the Northern Hill tribe and Villages GAP trip
A typical day as a volunteeing • Off I went to Elephant conservation in Chiang Mai and my first thought was how am I going to handle shoveling Elephant poo in 30 degree heat, but this experience turned out to be a lot more and I hope this brief overview will help you understand a bit more about the project and promote this great product to our customers and hopefully some of you to experience. • Day 1- today we all met at the office in Chiang Mai, newly equip with our volunteer t-shirts, to my surprise there were around 25 volunteers. • We took the hour journey to the Elephant park which is home to 36 rescued Elephants, mainly from logging and trekking camps. We had a quick briefing and off we went straight into feeding and bathing the elephants. • After this we watched a video about how the park came about and its aims of rescuing elephants from cruelty they have suffered. • Later in the day we were taken to our bamboo huts which were really nice, tips for customers (take a touch as at night navigating up the bamboo stairs can be very risky as I found out!) • Finally we had a meeting with jack, this guy was amazing and made everyone feel really welcome along with all the friendly staff at the park, there was a brief rundown of the week and then we sat around for dinner (30 dishes to choose from) and chatted away to all the volunteers.
This is a great product and I loved the trip.... • Feel confident to sell this product and be sure that our customers are going to have an amazing trip....
