Procedural Cityscape/Architectural Modeling based on Shape-Grammar
The current computer technologies have changed architectural design as shown.
Motivation: • How can creativity support tools facilitate the architectural design process of complex geometric design? • How can procedural modeling (artificial creativity) and user interaction (human creativity) be best integrated? • Current Problems on CAD/CG packages • Complicated GUI: Steep Learning Curve • Long Modeling Time: Requirement of writing scripts and learning functions • Reusability of Design Strategy: Need a framework to reuse style/strategy • Single-user Interface: Not communication tools • Solution • Multi-user interface: Microsoft Surface, NEXTGEN • Procedural Modeling using not scripts but images/data • Research method • Implementation of Creativity Support Tools for Architectural Design • User Test in architectural design studios.
