Edward Taylor • Before his emigration to America, Edward Taylor worked as a teacher in England. • Upon arriving to Boston in 1668, Taylor entered Harvard College as a sophomore and graduated in 1671. He later became a minister and physician in Westfield, Massachusetts • He is generally regarded as the best of the North American colonial poets. • Because he thought of his poetry as form personal worship, he only published 2 stanzas.
