LESSON PLAN TRAINING OUTLINE • TITLE OF CLASS: React to a possible Ground-Emplaced Improvised Explosive Device (IED) • DATE/TIME/LOCATION OF TRAINING: 02 JUNE 2010/0630-1530 Area EE 1 • PRIMARY INSTRUCTOR: SSG RAPU • ALTERNATE INSTRUCTOR: SPC PAWLAK • METHOD OF INSTRUCTION: LECTURE/VISUAL (HANDOUTS, DISCUSSION, DIAGNOSTIC) • REFERENCES: FM 7-8, FM 3-20.98, FM 34-2-1, FM 7-92 • TIME REQUIRED FOR EACH BLOCK OF INSTRUCTION: 1 HOUR
TASK, CONDITIONS, AND STANDARDS TASK: 071-326-0510 (SL1) CONDITIONS: The element is conducting is conducting movement operations on a designated route. All organic tools, equipment, and materials; rules of engagement (ROE); 9-line explosive hazards (EH) spot report, and higher headquarters (HQ) mission instructions are available. The element has already received a theater-wide IED/unexploded ordinance (UXO) briefing. Some iterations of this task should be performed in MOPP 4. STANDARDS: The element reacts to a possible ground-emplaced IED by using the confirm, clear, call, cordon, and control (5-Cs) procedure. The element complies with ROE, higher HQ mission instructions, and other special orders. The element takes the necessary actions to minimize injuries or fatalities.
