The Chumash’s food • The Chumash ate deer, rabbits, oyster, sea otters, seals, and fish. These are the foods in their main diet!!!
The Miwok’s food • The Miwok also ate deer, fish, rabbits, oysters, sea otters, and seals they also ate nuts, berries, and roots!!
The Chumash’s shelter • The Chumash lived in grass houses. The houses were made of a domed wooden frame thatched with grass. It can be up to 50 ft in diameter.
the Miwok’s shelter the Miwok lived in large earth covered houses some also made really simple shelters called lean-tos these were made of bark.
The Chumash’s clothing • The Chumash originally didn’t wear much clothing the women wore knee-high deer skin or grass skirts while the men went naked except for a ceremonial belt.
the Miwok’s clothing • the Miwoks like the Chumash wore very little because of a hot climate and very little rain.
How the Miwoks and Chumashs reacted with white man • the Miwok and Chumash was attacked by white settlers and was also moved off their land they didn’t like it because many of their people had died.
Interesting facts • the Chumash and Miwok looked around for jobs mostly on farms and ranches. by the end of the 20th century there was about 3,000 left.
