RDA Authority Records Timeline • March 31, 2013 is “Day One” for RDA authority records • Only RDA authority records will be added to the LC/NACO Authority File • All access points in bibliographic records (LC and PCC libraries) must be created under RDA rules • Bibliographic description can still follow AACR2
Conversion of the Authority File • Phase 1 – • Identify records that are likely to be incompatible with RDA • Programmatic addition to the records: THIS 1XX FIELD CANNOT BE USED UNDER RDA UNTIL THIS RECORD HAS BEEN REVIEWED AND/OR UPDATED • These headings will be upgraded over time by LC and NACO participants
