  2. Genesis • Born (1935) & brought up in Trivandrum, Kerala, India • Education: • B.Sc& B.L (Kerala University) • MA (Punjab University) • LL.M, Ph.D (Aligarh Muslim University) • Worked 5 decades to improve Indian legal education as stands today 

  3. Career • Advocate at Kerala High Court at the age of 20 • Teacher at AMU Law Faculty (ALIGARH) • Volunteered to setup National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU) • NLSIU is the 1st in India to use the Harvard Law School's case study method

  4. IGNITED MIND(Architect of Integrated Law Degree) • Introduced 5 years integrated LL.B. Programmethrough two leading law Universities (Founder Vice- Chancellor): • National Law School of India University, Bangalore • National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata ( Invited by W. Bengal Govt.)

  5. Judicial Trainer • The Supreme Court of India requested him to established the National Judicial Academy for training judges (Founder Director, NJA, GOI)

  6. Other Responsibilities • A member of various expert committees: • Legal Aid Committee(1973) • Civil Services Examination Reform Committee (2000-01) • Criminal Justice Reform (2002–2003) • Author of several books, articles and monographs on a variety of legal subjects

Awards & Recognition • Vocational Excellence Award in (1992: Rotary Club) • Living Legend of Law Award in (1994: IBA) • Honored with the prestigious Padma Award in 2003 • Best Law Teacher Award (2009: Society of Indian Law Firms) • Conferred the degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) (Honoris Causa)
