  3. Bang! Suddenly As hot as the sun Rushing lava quickly rises The ground is rumbling, shaking Red and orange lava threatens to overspill Suddenly a red fury rises inside him, screaming The volcano stands isolated and calm, but not for long

To write your own concrete poem: • Choose a shape that you can easily draw and that you would like to describe • Examples: house, heart, star, bug, mountain, butterfly, tree, flower, football, basketball, etc… • Lightly draw that shape with your pencil • Fill up the shape with describing words and sentences of that particular shape • Use at least two examples of alliteration and two examples of personification in your concrete poem • Carefully erase your lines • You now have an awesome shape poem! • Add this to your poetry book
