  2. Housing Action Plan 2009 - 2010 • People with a Learning Disability need different types of housing options • This is so they can choose where they want to live • This Action Plan says how we are going to make this happen in Kent.

  3. First aim…. • Each District will hold a regular meeting to talk about housing • Lead (The people who will make sure this happens)… Team Managers

  4. Other people involved…Local Housing Authority, District Partnership Groups, Members of the Integrated Teams, Supporting People • What do we want to achieve? At least 4 times a year actions will be recorded and fed back to the District Partnership Group and the Joint Policy and Planning Board for Housing (JPPB)

  5. Second aim… • Find out the housing needs of people with a learning disability in each district • Lead…Housing Options Managers

  6. Other people involved.. Team Managers, people who work with people with a learning disability, people who have done this work in the past, Supporting People • What do we want to achieve? Each district will knowhow much housing is needed now and in the future and a record of this will be in each Local Housing Authorities Housing Strategy (Plan)

  7. Third aim… • Information that is given by the Council and Housing Agencies is easy to read • Lead… Housing Options Managers

  8. Other people involved…Agencies that already provide good examples of this work, District Partnership Groups, Team Managers • What do we want to achieve? All housing agencies will have accessible information by Sept 2009

  9. Fourth aim… • Training on housing options for people with a learning dsability to everyone involved with this Action Plan • Lead…Team Managers and Housing Options Managers

  10. Other people involved… people with a learning disability, family carers, staff from housing, health and social care, District Partnership Groups • What do we want to achieve? 2 training sessions will be held in each district each year

  11. Fifth aim…. • Set up a tool kit for each district that will help them put this plan into action • A tool kit means things that will help people understand • Lead… Housing Action Plan Group

  12. Other people involved…people who have the information and have done something similar already • By when do we want to achieve this? January 2009

  13. Sixth aim…. • Make sure each District is working on this Housing Action Plan • Lead…. Partnership Board

  14. Other people involved… District Partnership Groups, Joint Policy and Planning Board for Housing and Kent Adult Social Services • What do we want to achieve? All 5 action points are happening in each district by September 2009
