How is it different from CVGS? • STEM Academy differs from CVGS in the type of curriculum and courses offered. • STEM Academy offers courses in advanced career and technical education • STEM Academy courses are driven by the needs and projected growth of the regional industry • The two schools complement each other

  8. Application Process • Interested students may apply in the spring of their sophomore year • Attend the XLR8 STEM Academy OPEN HOUSE on January 23rd, 2014 April 1st: All application due May 2nd: Official notification of acceptance to school counselors and student

  9. Application Requirements • Student completes STEM Academy Application • Counselor Recommendation Form • Three teacher recommendations (science, math, other) • Complete CVCC Application • Virginia Placement test in Math and English
