Antique Coach Excursions 465 was originally numbered 517 and delivered new to San Diego Transit Lines in 1957. After a long service life in San Diego, she was sold to Yuma Bus Co. in Arizona. When sold again to an individual living near Yuma, she sat untouched for 18 years. A Southern California collector then bought and returned her to San Diego!

General Motors TDH4801 Facts ENGINE: GM (Detroit) Diesel 6-71 6 = number of cylinders 71 =the cubic inches per cylinder TRANSMISSION: Spicer 2 speed hydraulic (automatic) transmission. At speeds from 0 to approx. 25 mph, transmission runs on torque converter, then shifts into direct drive. The only true gear is reverse. FUEL TANK CAPACITY: 85 gallons

1964 PAT takes over Oriole and 30 other independent companies PAT
PAT selected silver, red and white as their colors and began painting the fleet immediately
PAT continued school bus service in Pgh, known as “Trippers”
PAT placed a large order for GM “new look” buses, also referred to as “fish bowls”, replacing older buses, some that dated back to the 1930s.
