CTE is Federal Program & Strong in California • A program of study that involves a multiyear sequence of career courses (introductory, concentrator, completer/capstone). • CTEintegrates core academic knowledge with technical and occupational knowledge. • CTEprovide students with a pathway to postsecondary education and careers.

Eight Small Learning Communities across 3 High Schools • BADA @ SLZ HS • East Bay Arts @ EBA • Future Leaders Academy @ Arroyo HS • Health & Medicine @ Arroyo HS • Law, Leadership & Culture @ SLZ HS • Promise Academy @ SLZ HS • Tech Links @ Arroyo HS • TREND @ Arroyo HS LCAP allocates staffing and funds for students to be exposed to at least one college and one career exploration activity and/or to increase students’ opportunities to take career pathway courses.

Five California Partnership Academies • BADA @ SLZ HS • Future Leaders @ Arroyo HS • Health & Medicine @ Arroyo HS • Tech-Links @ Arroyo HS • TREND @ Arroyo HS • Requirements: • Students must be cohorted in several classes in 10th and 11th and 12th grade • Students must take three years of CPA elective classes • Funding must be spent 60% on students; 40% on staff – there must be an equal match from district and business partners • Expose students to WBL activities in the chosen pathway – field trips, college visits, speakers, etc. • Mentorships & Leadership Activities • 50% of students must be “high risk” (attendance, grades, free/reduced lunch). • Each academy receives approximately $74K per year

Perkins Funded Programs Requirements: CTE credentialed teachers Follow the 11 elements of high quality education Must have an advisory board composed of business partners, parents, and students and meet twice per year Funds given to district and distributed among all programs according to need and/or enrollment ($83K total) All classes take place at the high schools and not at the ROP Center

Eden Area ROP Program Thirteen Programs: • Auto Refinishing I and II • Automotive Technology I & II • Careers in Education I and II • Cybersecurity / Computer Programming • Construction Technology I and II • Criminal Justice / Forensic Science Advanced • Culinary Science • Dental Assisting • First Responders (Fire Science / EMT) • Medical Careers I and (Medical Technologies) II • Merchandising Occupations • Web, Graphics, Digital Design (Computer Graphics) • Welding Technology

  10. Eden Area ROP Program • 11th and 12th graders can attend • AM and PM sessions – 3 hours daily • Transportation provided by district • Meet some graduation requirements (Math/Science/Fine Arts) • Some classes earn “college credit” • Certification & Licenses for those who take two years of the same class

  14. CTE Needs from LCAP • Continue to support Small Learning Communities • Fund Career Center Specialists at each High School • Presently funded by grants. • Grants end at the end of the 18-19 school year • CC Specialists oversee Dual Enrollment, ROP tours, support counselors
