  1. Muscle Test By Prof. Dr. Samy A. Nasef

  2. Clinically

  3. Test position

  4. Teres Major • Weakness of this muscle:- • diminishes the strength of medial rotation and extension of the humerus.

  5. Shortening • Teres Major: Shortness ofTeres Major prevents full range of lateral rotation and abduction of the humerus. • With tight Teres Major the scapula will begin to rotate laterally almost simultaneously with abduction. • Scapular movements which accompany shoulder abduction are influenced by the degree of muscle shortness of the Teres Majorand Supscapularis. • Normal variations in scapular motion are closely related to the normal variations in length of these muscles.

  6. Clinically

  7. Weakness • Serratus anterior: • Weakness: • The main sign of weakness of the Serratus anterior muscle will be the winging of the scapula. A subject a paralyzed Serratus muscle will not be able to rise the am overhead.

  8. Weakness of Coraco-brachialis decrease the strength of shoulder flexion particularly in movements which involve complete elbow flexion and supination, for example, combing the hair. • Shortness of Coraco-brachialis: • The coracoid process is depressed anteriorly when the arm is down at the side.
