Queen victoria’slife • She was born on May 24th 1819 and died on January 22nd 1901. • She married her German cousin Prince Albert. • Queen Victoria was the first person to pick up a telephone and put up a Christmas tree. • She had 9 children. • She was the first British queen to have her picture taken.
Victorian fashion • Men wore a top hat ,bow tie and a posh jacket ,unlike what we wear today. • Women wore a big puffy dress and high heels. • Children, if they worked in the workhouse would wear a special workhouse uniform ,so if they tried to escape people would know wear to send them.
Victorian toys • Most toys in victorian times were made of wood. • Girls played with things such as tea sets, doll houses, rocking horses that had fur tails. • Only rich people had rocking horses and tea sets and dolls houses. • The poor people made their own toys like peg dolls. • Rich boys played with things like Noahs ark and wooden soldiers.
Victorian transport • Most people rode around on horses and carts. • Rich people drove around in motor cars. • Some people rode steam trains to go on holidays. • Quite a few people rode on Barges which is a type of boat.
George stephenson • George stephenson is mostly known by his invension THE ROCKET. • George stephenson was thinking of another way to get around so he created a train. • George stephenson had a son called Edward.
Victorian schools • In victorian schools if someone got a question wrong they had to stand in the corner and wear a hat with a d on it that meant dunce. • As a pen they had to use a feather and ink which was called a quill. • If their handwriting wasn’t great they would use a chalk board.
