  2. Achievements so far…. • Telecare Strategy launched 27 June 07 • Trained 103 staff • Increase in telecare referrals • Currently fitting 5 telecare packages per day • Crucially! Developed service model

  3. How we have made a difference! • Introduced medication reminders • Review care packages <14 hrs • Introduced bogus caller package

  4. Case Study 1 • 82 year old lady • registered blind, with Arthritis. • Intervention – CO2 Detector • March 2007 detector activated by gas leak • Responded – was tested for CO2 by A & E • Sensor activation enabled early identification and rectification of the problem • Continues to live at home

Case Study 2 • A couple (97 years and 95) with sensory impairments and dementia concerns regarding their safety • Fitted a basic package of Social Alarm Unit and pendant, 2 Flood Detectors, a Passive Infra Red detector a Smoke Alarm and a Bogus Caller button. • On boxing day 2006 the smoke alarm was activated

  6. Case Study 2 – continued • As a result of the smoke alarm activation the fire service was called, luckily the service users daughter arrived at the property at the same time to discover the house full of smoke and a saucepan burnt dry.

  7. Case Study 3 • A 20 year old male, with severe medical conditions including Epilepsy. • concerns regarding epileptic seizures at night his parents were sometimes not aware • A epilepsy sensor was fitted to his bed programmed to alert his mothers mobile phone • Family reassured
