Term 2 curriculum • Music; What will be taught and how it will be taught • MELODIC WORK: • Practice do, re, mi, so, la, high do in a variety of ways – singing games, folk songs, melodic dictation, handsigns and improvisation. • Prepare and learn the new solfa sound fa and ti. • Singing in canon and inner-hearing activities. • RHYTHMIC WORK: • Practice all known rhythms in a variety of ways. • Prepare and learn the new rhythmic element, tam-ti – an uneven rhythm over 2 beats. • WRITTEN WORK: • Written work using all known solfa and rhythmic elements • Melodic and rhythmic dictations • Tones and Semitones on the staff • Writing major scales • Writing key signatures • Listening and responding to Classical Music
