LP Traffic Task Force - Objectives & Mandate • Speed, volume, parking and pedestrian safety • Seek big-picture solutions with City/Consultant • Maintain high-level of involvement from residents • Develop plan to address top traffic issues & problem areas • Task force made up of residents across Lawrence Park • Conduct survey to collect resident views, feedback • Initiative co-funded by LPRA and LPBPOA with resident donations • Finalize and present LP traffic plan by early 2009. • Enbridge pipe renewal to start in 2009

LP Traffic Task Force – Survey Approach • Raised $6,800 to fund traffic calming initiative • Survey had 30-40 questions – open ended & specific • Received feedback on concerns and possible solutions • 300+ responses from base of 1,500 residents • Analyzed data using Knowledge4You Corp. software ($2,000) • Hired UMA Engineering Ltd. as independent traffic consultants ($3,600) • Task force met with City Traffic Department and Councillor Jenkins (April 4, 2008) • Reviewed survey findings and proposed solutions • Discussed options and timeline for project planning

LP Traffic Survey - Pedestrian Safety • 66% suggest sidewalks would improve safety • 42% suggest curbs would improve safety • Top five streets of concern regarding safety • Mildenhall (27%) • Blythwood (19%) • Mt. Pleasant (11%) • All streets without sidewalks (9%) • St. Leonards (8%) • 67% feel construction traffic/parking a safety issue

Pleasant • Close off Dawlish/St. Leonards @ Bayview • Turn Restrictions Dawlish/St. Leonards @ Bayview • Fix pot holes/pave streets • Increase police enforcement • Sidewalks on Mildenhall • Implement Turn Restrictions • Implement Speed Humps • Address speed issues • Install sidewalks everywhere • Install more Stop Signs • Light at Lawrence & Wanless • Limit speed on Mt. Survey: Views on Potential Traffic Solutions • 66% in favour of sidewalks • 64% want more police enforcement • 61% would like more stop signs • 53% support rush hour turn restrictions • 45% support installation of crosswalks • 41% support installation of speed humps • 29% support daytime turn restrictions • 26% support the use of traffic circles • 24% support the use of pinch points • 22% support one-way streets

  16. Next Steps – Solution Development • City to conduct studies of problem intersections (by priority) • Mt. Pleasant/Lawrence, Yonge/Lawrence, Blythwood/Bayview • Review meeting mid to late June • City to propose potential solutions (need sidewalks) • Stop signs • Turn restrictions • Speed humps • Pinch points, chicanes • Traffic circles • Road closures • Review draft options • Review proposals with City and Task Force in fall 2008 • Town hall to present proposal to residents in early 2009 • Engage independent consultant throughout process Easiest Most Difficult

Next Steps – Solution Development (cont’d) • Task force and Councillor Jenkins to meet with Glendon College regarding land for bus stop adjacent to ramp • Bayview bridge reconstruction delayed until 2009 • Plan to determine availability of land by June 2008 • Bike Lanes • City approved plan for bike lanes in 2001 • Ward 25 to bike lanes will be on Lawrence and Mt. Pleasant • Bike Lane Review Meeting to be held April 23, 7:00 pm at Banbury Community Center • Broader Public Hearing – Mid to late May 2008
