Job Duties: • Review and interpret a design sketch and ensure the clothing pattern accurately resembles the sample pattern • Work and communicate with designersand manufacturer’s to make decisions in regards to amount of fabric to be used and color choices • Be knowledgeable with complicated pattern requirements and machining techniques • Supervise the fittings of the garment and make any adjustments and corrections necessary • Inspect the accuracy of the sample pattern • Grade patterns to determine sizes using CAD (Computer Aided Designs) • Reproduce the sample pattern to make a master pattern

  3. Education Certificate Program: Offered in Technical and Vocational Schools Degree Course Programs: A 2-4 year program for an Associates Degree or 4-year program for a Bachelor Degree Online Course: Offer either certificate of degree programs

  4. Abilities A pattern maker must have the sensibility to produce a vision to best of their ability through precision, creativity and effective communication.

  5. Personal Qualities • Detail oriented • Artistic and Creative • Great hand-eye coordination • Precision and Neatness • Enjoy practical and manual activities

  6. Salary Top-Level Pay: $40,000-$150,000 Median Pay: $21,000 Entry Level: $11,000
