GPAs • GPAs are based on all high school classes. • Students have two cumulative GPAs. • Weighted GPA based on the SC uniform grading scale (highest grade is 5.87) • Unweighted GPA is based on a 4.0 scale
Promotion Requirements • Students must have 24 credits in order to graduate. • To be promoted to the 10thgrade, a studentmust have an English credit and a math credit as well as 3 other credits (5) • To be promoted to the 11th grade, a student must have 2 math credits and 2 English credits as well as 7 other credits (11) • To be promoted to the 12th grade, a student must have 3 math credits, 3 English credits, 2 science credits, 2 social studies credits as well as 6 other credits (16)
Scholarships • Palmetto Fellows • Top 5 % of class in 10th, 11th or 12th grade • 1200 on critical reading and math parts of the SAT or 27 on the ACT • 3.0 on the Weighted Scale • Life Scholarship • Top 30 % of graduating class • 1100 on critical reading and math parts of the SAT or 24 on the ACT • 3.0 on the Weighted Scale • Hope Scholarship • 3.0 on the Weighted Scale • Other Scholarships • Have GPA requirements
Technical or Colleges • Do NOT require the SAT or ACT • Only need a weighted 3.0 to get 75% of tuition paid as long as student is taking two or more classes
